Executive Seat

Free, read-only oversight across linked sales-manager workspaces.

The Executive Seat is designed for VPs of Sales, CROs, and other sales leaders who need cross-manager visibility without day-to-day coaching or administration. Executive seats are free, read-only, and unlimited. The Manager seat is the only paid core seat.

There are two executive contexts in SMVue:

  • A new Sales Executive signup creates an organization-level oversight workspace. This is the path described below.
  • An owner can assign an Executive seat to a member of an existing manager workspace. That member receives the read-only scope available inside that workspace; it does not automatically create an organization rollup.

Organization Executive View

An organization-level Executive workspace has four supported read-only surfaces:

  • Command Center — organization health, directional forecast coverage, manager focus, and the reps who need attention.
  • Team — managers and their teams. A manager whose workspace has not produced a score remains visible as Awaiting data.
  • Analytics → Rep Benchmarking — rep comparison across linked manager workspaces.
  • Coaching — coaching cadence, action completion, distribution, and manager-level coaching status across the organization.

The executive workspace does not connect its own CRM or calendar. It reads authorized CRM, team, attention, and coaching signals from the manager workspaces linked to the same organization.

Getting Started as a New Sales Executive

  1. Create an account and verify your email.
  2. Choose Sales Executive. Creating an executive organization requires an eligible corporate email; personal-email accounts should use the Sales Manager path.
  3. Confirm the organization name.
  4. Invite one or more sales managers.

Each accepted manager invitation creates or reuses a separate manager-owned workspace linked to the organization. The manager goes to CRM onboarding in that workspace. The manager is not added to the executive's oversight workspace.

Managing Manager Invitations

The Invite your team page lists pending invitations with their delivery state and expiration time.

  • Resend requests another delivery and extends the invitation's expiration.
  • Cancel makes a pending invitation unusable while preserving its audit history.
  • Retrying the same request with its idempotency key does not create a duplicate delivery attempt. A new resend request creates one new delivery attempt and extends the expiration.
  • Reopening an accepted invitation returns the manager to the same linked workspace and onboarding route.

If no manager has joined, the Command Center points back to manager invitations. If a manager has joined but has not added reps or synced data, the executive view says setup is still in progress instead of showing a false healthy or zero state.

Read-Only Boundaries

Organization executives can:

  • View the organization Command Center.
  • Review managers and their teams in Team.
  • Open an organization-aware manager summary.
  • Compare reps in Rep Benchmarking.
  • Review organization and manager coaching status.
  • Resend or cancel their own organization's pending manager invitations.

Organization executives cannot:

  • Create or edit deals, notes, meetings, action items, team members, pipelines, or integrations in a manager workspace.
  • Open workspace-local rep detail or individual coaching-session records. Those records remain summarized in the organization rollup.
  • Use organization-wide Pipeline, Acquisition, Performance, Retention, Impact Report, custom reporting, or other workspace-local analytics pages.
  • Manage a manager workspace's settings or billing.
  • Use Sales Coach as part of the free Executive seat.

When attention or coaching data cannot be loaded, SMVue labels it unavailable and offers a retry. It does not turn a failed request into a zero score or healthy state. Managers who have not started measurable coaching remain visible as not started and are excluded from coaching-score and cadence aggregates.

The organization-level Executive navigation uses these shared app paths:

  • Today/dashboard
  • Team/team
  • Analytics → Rep Benchmarking/analytics
  • Coaching/coaching

Direct links to unsupported workspace-local pages return the organization executive to the Command Center.

Manager and Coaching Drilldowns

A manager row opens an organization-aware manager rollup. Coaching manager detail shows cadence, action completion, meetings held, and per-rep status available to the organization rollup.

Individual rep pages and coaching-session records remain workspace-local. The organization executive therefore sees summary-level status, not the manager's underlying private workspace records.

Forecast and coaching scores are directional operating signals. Do not treat them as board-grade forecasts or HR ratings of record.

Pricing

Executive seats are free, read-only, and unlimited on every plan. Invited sales managers receive separate Manager workspaces; multi-manager commercial setup is handled as a custom Team plan rather than self-serve executive checkout.

Partner Access Is Different

Partner access is not an Executive seat. It is a separate, revocable relationship for an external advisor or consultant, managed through the partner-access controls. A client can keep that access read-only, narrow it, revoke it, or separately assign an available Manager seat for hands-on work.
