Seat Types
Understand the different seat types in SMVue and what they can access.
SMVue offers three seat types, each designed for different roles in your organization. Understanding seat types helps you assign the right access to each user.

Choosing the Right Seat Type
Give Manager Seat To:
- Sales managers who coach reps
- Team leads who run 1:1s
- Anyone who needs Meeting Prep, Sales Coach, Notebooks
Give Executive Seat To:
- VPs of Sales
- CROs
- Executives who need team-wide visibility
- Anyone who needs analytics but doesn't coach directly
Give Rep Seat To:
- Sales reps (AEs, SDRs, CSMs)
- Anyone being coached
- Team members who only need to see their own performance
Assigning Seat Types
Only Owners can assign seat types:
- Go to Settings > Team
- Find the user
- Click Change Seat Type
- Select new seat type
- Confirm changes
This assignment gives the member read-only access inside the existing manager workspace. It does not create an organization-level rollup. A new VP or CRO who needs cross-manager oversight can choose Sales Executive during signup, confirm an organization, and invite managers into linked workspaces.
Billing Impact:
- Only Manager seats are billed (the manager seat is the one paid seat)
- Rep seats and Executive seats are always free and unlimited. Executive seats are read-only; Rep seats can take narrow task-status and Inbox reply actions within their own workspace.

This table describes the organization-level Executive workspace created through Sales Executive onboarding. An Executive member assigned inside a manager workspace may receive that workspace's read-only Pipeline, CRM, Performance, Impact Report, Analytics, or Reports surfaces when enabled, but cannot administer or change the workspace.
Sales Coach is included with the Manager seat. Sales Coach for Reps and Sales Coach for Execs are available as add-ons — contact us for add-on pricing. They are not included with the free Rep or Executive seat. Sales Coach for Execs applies only to an Executive member inside a manager workspace where the add-on is assigned; it is not available from the organization-level Executive workspace.
