Partner Account Setup

Apply, activate your partner account, and invite a client.

SMVue partners use a separate partner workspace to move between client organizations without taking ownership of a client's account.

Apply to the Partner Program

Submit the application on the SMVue Partner Program page with your contact and business details. Applications are reviewed before approval; submitting the form does not create an account or guarantee acceptance.

If you submit the application again, SMVue reuses the existing inquiry. Material new details are appended instead of creating competing review records.

The application form verifies that a real person is submitting it. If that verification expires or fails, the form shows the problem and lets you retry before submitting again.

Activate an Approved Account

After PartnerStack approval, SMVue sends an account-setup link to the approved email address. The link is time-limited and tied to that address.

  1. Open the newest setup email from SMVue.
  2. If you are new to SMVue, create your password. If you already have an account, sign in with the same email address.
  3. Review and accept the current Partner Agreement.
  4. If SMVue asks which workspace to use, choose the appropriate workspace. SMVue creates a separate partner workspace when an existing customer workspace should stay independent.

The partner workspace keeps client accounts separate from your own organization. Its initial name comes from the business name on your PartnerStack application when that name is available. If an older setup link has expired or delivery failed, contact SMVue support for a new link.

Sign In to the Partner Portal

Approved partners return to the partner portal after password, MFA, or passkey sign-in, even if the last active workspace was a client organization. Use the workspace switcher to enter a client organization you are authorized to access.

If your PartnerStack status is pending, rejected, or archived, SMVue shows a restricted status-and-recovery page instead of the normal product navigation or client routes. You can still complete account-security verification and permanently delete your own account from that restricted state. Once PartnerStack restores approval and that update syncs, sign in again to recover the approved partner portal.

Manage Client Work During the Limited Rollout

SMVue supports many kinds of service partners, including fractional sales leaders, fractional revenue operations teams, coaches, consultants, and implementation practices. It is not limited to one partner network or consulting model.

When the Partner Operations workspace is enabled for your partner account, the sidebar adds:

  • Command Center for work that needs attention across clients.
  • Clients for the existing client-workspace list, workspace administration, and billing handoff.
  • Relationships for active service relationships and an operational client 360.
  • Engagements for workstreams, milestones, outcomes, deliverables, and assigned partner team members.
  • Team for partner administrator and operator responsibilities.
  • Program for referral, demo, and program actions.

Each client can authorize one active partner at a time. The client still owns its workspace, data, billing, and the work shared into that workspace.

Engagement work has two clear visibility boundaries:

  • Shared work and client-visible deliverables belong to the client and can appear in the client's SMVue workspace.
  • Private partner notes belong to the partner practice and are never shown to the client.

The expanded workspace is being released gradually. Enabling it adds operational tools without removing the existing client list, workspace administration, or billing handoff. If it is not enabled for your account, you will continue to see Dashboard and Client Workspaces. That does not change your existing client access.

Invite a Client

The partner portal does not create a client-owned organization for you. It gives you an attributed signup link:

  1. Open Invite a client in the partner portal.
  2. Copy the attributed signup link and send it to the client's administrator.
  3. The client administrator creates the organization and controls its account and billing.
  4. During onboarding, the client can authorize or decline your access. Authorization grants access to that client workspace; declining grants no access. The client can manage that decision later from Settings > Partners.
  5. The client then chooses whether to continue as a Sales Manager or Sales Executive and completes the matching account setup.

SMVue prevents a new signup from silently creating a duplicate of an existing customer organization. If the client already uses SMVue, contact support instead of asking them to register again.

Client Access and Seats

After the client authorizes access, the default partner relationship is read-only. The client owner can:

  • Keep the default client-wide read-only view.
  • Restrict access to selected team members.
  • Assign an available paid Manager seat for hands-on work.
  • Remove the Manager seat while keeping read-only partner access.
  • Revoke access to that workspace at any time.

The client remains the owner. Only the client owner can assign or remove the Partner's Manager seat. The Partner cannot assign their own seat or change client member roles. Without a paid Manager seat, the Partner keeps the authorized read-only view but cannot manage client invitations, members, or workspace settings. A Partner cannot delete the client's organization.

Send a Client Billing Handoff

When an authorized client needs a separate billing contact, open that client's record in the partner portal and use Billing Handoff to create a Stripe-hosted Solo checkout link. Enter the billing contact's email, choose the billing interval, then open or share the Stripe link. Card details are entered only on Stripe.

If checkout is canceled, no payment is made. After Stripe returns, the partner portal restores the client record and shows whether checkout was canceled or returned successfully. A billing contact who is not an authorized SMVue partner cannot use that return to view the client's portal or data.

Create a Demo Workspace

The partner portal can create one seeded demo workspace for practicing the product journey without connecting a real CRM.

  1. Start demo creation from the partner portal.
  2. Keep the page open while SMVue creates the workspace in the background. The portal reports whether creation is still running, completed, or failed.
  3. After creation, use the manager, executive, and rep views to walk through the same demo organization from each role's perspective.

Demo creation can take about a minute. If the portal reports a failure, try again once; contact support if the second attempt fails.

Suspend or Leave a Client

A partner can suspend their visibility or leave a client workspace from the partner portal. Suspension blocks access without transferring ownership. Leaving removes the partner membership and reconciles any paid seat attached to it.

Only a suspension that you started can be resumed from the partner portal. A client-owner or PartnerStack suspension must be cleared by the client owner or in PartnerStack. Leaving also removes any manager, executive, rep, or coach seat attached to the Partner relationship; the client's saved access restrictions remain in place and are not broadened by a suspend, leave, or later recovery. After a referred Partner leaves, the client owner must explicitly authorize the relationship again before access can return. Admin-assigned Partner access instead requires administrative reassignment; contact support.

PartnerStack status changes normally reach SMVue within about five minutes. Archiving a partnership suspends partner-portal and client access and signs out active Partner sessions after that sync. Restoring an approved partnership likewise requires the updated status to sync, and it does not silently resume client visibility that the Partner suspended themselves.

Troubleshooting

The partner key may still be syncing from PartnerStack. Allow up to five minutes, then refresh the portal. You can use your PartnerStack referral link while the portal link is unavailable.

Sign in with the exact address that received the approval email. The link cannot activate a different email address.

I cannot see a client organization

Ask the client owner to confirm your access in Settings > Partners. A declined, suspended, or revoked relationship will not appear as switchable.

I only see a Partner status page

Your PartnerStack approval is not currently active. Check the status shown on the page. If PartnerStack has already restored approval, allow up to five minutes for synchronization, then sign in again. Contact support if the restricted page remains after the approval is active.
